Blog Virgin - B-LOG 1
Oh My Gods, I am a bit nervous here, this can't be right. This is my first blog and I feel like a virgin.
Or at least how I imagine a virgin must feel like during his/her first time.
You see, being born Greek means that I was automatically spared the embarassment of losing one's virginity since a Greek is born a Non-Virgin.
Instead, like all Greeks, I was born a very competent sex machine who knew how to please...well...myself. As I grew older other people joined me in the activity, (of pleasing myself), but not before years of practise took their toll on my mental state.
These are some of the most important qualities of being Greek, Self-reliance, Self-sustenance, and Self-standing.
In Greek this is called: ΜΑΛΑΚΑΣ and is one of the main platforms (some would say the cornerstone even), upon which Greeknes is built. The two meanings are so inseperably intertwined that you cannot longer be the one without the other. Greek and ΜΑΛΑΚΑΣ are stuck twins sharing vital organs. Surgical seperation is not realy an option so one can pray instead.
In the epistemology of AllGreekToMe being Greek and MΑΛΑΚΑΣ simultanuesly is self-evident, but I am sure we will have plenty of opportunities to examine in greater depth the abysmally great depths of this national trait.
But don't get me wrong. This is not going to be just the self-pitying, self-flogging blog ramblings of a lost Greek mind. I promise that you will also get your fair share so you don't feel left-out of this crazy party. I want you to be included, I want you to be part of the Success Story that is Greece. That way you will also feel succesful.
But enough for now. More about the meaning of a Greek Self will follow tomorrow. You can have too much of a good thing all at once so I will be pacing you. Till then...Go practise your Greekness, because you are after AllGreekToMe.
